If you're looking to browse the sub-genres of the SHOUTcast directory (ie. subsets of 'Alternative,' 'Pop,' 'Rock,' etc...) here is how you can make your browsing more granular:




1. At the top of the SHOUTcast Radio page, click on the "Advanced Search" link.

The search bar at the top will change to include a dropdown menu of different genres:



2. From the new search bar at the top, click on the menu titled "Choose a Genre" and choose a subgenre. You can simply click "Search" and the directory will refresh with stations that are attributed to that specific subgenre.

This morning, we installed some updates to the SHOUTcast site as part of our continuing efforts to improve the new SHOUTcast experience. Some of these updates were LOUDLY requested by the SHOUTcast community, which include:

1) Expanded view of station results

You can now expand & collapse the "Top Stations by Genre" module on the SHOUTcast.com site to view more information about the station in the station listing directory.
[Check out the "<<" arrow next to "Top Stations by Genre" module & a thin strip running in-between "Top Stations by Genre" & "Station Listing"]

2) More station results per page

You can now configure your directory search to include 10 or 20 search results per page on SHOUTcast.com and SHOUTcast in Winamp
[Check out the "Stations per page" link in the footer of station listing section]

3) Share & bookmark SHOUTcast.com & search results

You can now share or bookmark SHOUTcast or the search results for a query on popular social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Delicious, Digg, Stumbleupon and Reddit.

We hear you loud and clear!

This morning, we rolled out an update to the SHOUTcast site which brings back an original feature: the ability to see a station's bitrate and stream type in the directory. The bitrate and stream type information for stations can also be seen in the SHOUTcast experience in Winamp, as well.

Based on user feedback, we will continue to update the SHOUTcast BETA experience and as always, we want any and all feedback you have about the site. We can take it - the good & the bad. Some of you have given us an earful, to say the least.

We are working as quickly as possible to roll out updates so try to control yourselves until then.

We'll be adding more improvements in the coming weeks so check back regularly to the blog to find out more...

In order to view all SHOUTcast TV content you must adjust your "Config" settings.
1. In the "Media Library" window of WinAmp, go to the SHOUTcast TV section under "Online Services" and load the SHOUTcast TV main page
2. At the top (underneath the top ad banner and next to 'Return to Classic SHOUTcast'), there is a link to "Config". Click on it
3. A pop up SHOUTcast TV config menu should appear.
4. Pick type of content
5. Hit the Save button
6. Click Back button to go back to TV listings
Please note that some content in the directory may be of an adult nature and viewer discretion is advised.
