Bollywood music, in very broad terms, is music from Bollywood Hindi-language films based in India. Bollywood - which gets its name from being part Bombay, part Hollywood (from the United States) - has produced some famous hits around the world and like Hollywood, continues to be acclaimed and prolific with its films.

In many Bollywood musical films, the actors sometimes lip-synched their performances to that of professional recording artists but many also gained notoriety for being both actors and singers. In the 1950s, Kishore Kumar was one such example who was known for his on screen talents as well as his vocal career off screen. Other examples include Suraiyya and Noor Jehan.

These days, Bollywood music has become so pertinent to the marketing success of films that soundtracks released on tape and now CD are released well ahead of the film's release in order to generate buzz.

Smooth Jazz has been around since the 1970s and is often described as the "next evolution" of classical jazz where it drew it's influences from R&B, funk and pop music. Modern smooth jazz musicians and groups tend to play their instruments in a melodic fashion. Such recognizable names include Chris Botti (pictured above), Kenny G, Dave Boz and Peter. White.

Since the SHOUTcast Popup Player was launched many users have asked us how to access the playlist (pls files) from the stations' Tune-In links. Here's how:

Step 1: Configure the Tune In! links on SHOUTcast.com to launch stations in your default media player (ie, Winamp, iTunes, etc). You can do so by following the instructions listed in the 'To Keep Listening Using your Favorite Media Player' section halfway down this blog post.

Step 2: Once you have configured the SHOUTcast website to open all Tune In links in your media player, all Tune In links will return the pls file of that station.

In addition to the above, please note that all Tune In links on the classic SHOUTcast website remain linked to the pls files.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave a comment in this blog post.

Thanks!
f.
